Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how the Taktrix application ("Taktrix", "the app") handles your information. Taktrix is a Matrix-powered, end-to-end-encrypted, decentralized chat plugin for ATAK (Android Team Awareness Kit), published by Caskfive ("Caskfive", "we", "us"). Taktrix is built to keep your communications private.
Sign in with OpenID
Taktrix signs you in to Matrix using OpenID. Authentication is handled by your Matrix homeserver (for example, matrix.org), not by Caskfive. Taktrix never sees or stores your Matrix password. The information involved in signing in, and how it is handled, is governed by the privacy policy of the homeserver you choose.
Your messages are end-to-end encrypted
Messages sent through Taktrix are protected with end-to-end encryption provided by the Matrix protocol. This means your messages are encrypted on your device and can only be read by their intended recipients. Caskfive does not collect, store, or have any technical ability to read your message content.
What Caskfive does not collect
Caskfive does not collect your message content, your contacts, or your location through Taktrix. We do not sell your data, and we do not use your communications for advertising.
Data held by your Matrix homeserver
Because Taktrix is a client for the Matrix network, your account, encrypted messages, and related metadata are stored and processed by the Matrix homeserver you connect to. Caskfive does not operate that homeserver. Please review the privacy policy of your chosen homeserver to understand what it stores and how it handles your data.
This website
This policy describes the Taktrix application. The caskfive.com website that hosts this page may use standard web analytics to understand site traffic. That is separate from the Taktrix app, which does not send your chat activity to Caskfive.
Children
Taktrix is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes will be reflected on this page.
